Brow Aftercare Instructions
NO WATER FOR A MINIMUM OF 2 WEEKS
NO MAKEUP ON YOUR BROWS
NO SWEATING
NO SUN EXPOSURE (WEAR A HAT!)
DO NOT GET BROWS WET IN THE SHOWER
NO PICKING, PEELING, SCRATCHING OF PIGMENT
Day 1
Immediately after procedure, blot brows with tissue to absorb lymph fluid that surfaces. Do this for 1 hour.
Night 1
Gently wash brows at sink with dial soap and water, rinse, gently blot dry. (Note: Wash face at sink also-use a washcloth or makeup wipe so that you do not touch your brows.)
Days 2-14
Gently wash brows each morning or night with dial soap and water. Blot dry then apply a very thin, sheer layer of Aquaphor. Once a day is sufficient.
- Peeling may begin a few days after the procedure. Some will not experience any peeling. Both are normal. This can last up to 14 days.
- Once peeling is finished, your brows will look exceptionally light, and it may seem like they disappear. The pigment will start to darken/resurface as the skin continues to exfoliate over the next month.
- You may go back to your normal routine and activities as well as wearing makeup on your brows once all peeling has come off naturally.
- A touch up is required, and this is where we will boost color, tweak shape, and perfect your brows. Your brows are not considered done until after the touch up.
More About the Brow Healing Process
When you come in for your initial appointment, do not expect to leave with your perfect brows! Your brows are not done until after you are healed post touch up. During the initial appointment, we lay the foundation.
I am a conservative artist, and I strive for natural results. This means we are spacing the strokes out to make sure they heal nice and crisp, going a little lighter on color (we can always go darker, but we can’t take the color away), and for the most part, working with your natural shape.
Day 1
Your brows look great! They may seem a little harsh or bright, but this will soften. Redness around the area is typical.
Days 2-4
Your color looks pretty dark, and your brows may look a little bolder than you expected. That’s okay – this only lasts a couple days! (Side note – if you like the boldness, you may want to add shading at your touch up!)
Days 5-7
Your brows will likely begin to scab/flake. Whatever you do, DO NOT PICK!
Days 8-15
Your brows will appear much lighter once all scabbing is done. This is normal with proper aftercare. Your skin is healing, and the new layer is muting the pigment.
Days 15-30
Your color will start to come back slowly. This is different for everyone, some may show great retention (if aftercare was done properly and you have the *ideal* skin type), but it isn’t always the case. You will likely experience that your brows look patchy and very light, and you might see some things you want to change or add. That is perfectly okay! Because at 6-8 weeks post initial appointment, you come back for your free touch up!
Lip Blush Prep Instructions
- If you have ever had a cold sore, you must obtain a prescription for an antiviral and take 2 days before appointment, day of, and 2 days after. This is critical to prevent a post-procedure outbreak which could cause poor retention. Ask your doctor or inquire with me for other options.
- 48 Hours Prior to Procedure: Avoid: Caffeine, Alcohol, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Niacin and Omega 3.
- 4 Weeks Prior to Procedure: Avoid the following: Chemical Peels, Laser Treatments, Lip Filler.
- Day Before Appointment: Exfoliate lips with a natural lip scrub, keep them moisturized, and stay hydrated.
Lip Blush Aftercare Instructions
Day 1
Wipe your lips with an antiseptic wipe 30 minutes after the appointment. Keep them moist with the appointment provided by your artist.
Night 1
Before going to sleep, wipe your lips with a warm, moist cotton round followed by an antiseptic wipe. Apply generous amounts of ointment.
Healing takes roughly 4-5 days. Keep your lips hydrated with the ointment during this time. You may experience light peeling/flaking, and your lips will likely feel chapped or sunburnt. Your color will bloom during this period, and fade significantly during the 6-8 week healing process before you come back for the required touch up.
Important Items to Note:
- Avoid hot/spicy foods after your appointment.
- Drink from a straw after your appointment.
- DO NOT use whitening toothpaste.
- Do not pick at your scabbed/chapped lips.
- Avoid exposing lips to the sun.
